Once again this year thousands of people visited Fira de Barcelona to enjoy the art of tattooing, and 300 tattoo artists from 32 countries have made more than 1.000 tattoos during these three days (5th, 6th and 7th October)!
Many people had the chance to get tattooed by some of the most important international artists such as Deborah Cherrys, author of the poster of this year’s Convention, the Polynesian Rosie Edwards (for the first time in Spain), Ryan Ashley Malarkey – known for her appearances in the North American program of the Paramount chain “Ink Master Angels” –, the American Teresa Sharpe (specialist in color realism), Joanna Faferko from Poland, Kätlin Malm from Estonia, Alisha Gory from the USA, Jenna Kerr directly from London and Viviana Calvo, emerging artist of the national scene… and many more.
“Just as you do not have to be a painter, want to paint or want to buy a painting to appreciate a Miró in a museum, you do not need to get tattooed or be a tattoo artist to want to visit the expo.” says Mik Garreta, director of the convention.
In fact, not all visitors came to get tattooed, a good part wanted just to contemplate the works of art on skin and simply enjoy the multiple parallel activities offered by the BAUM FEST (Barcelona Art & Urban Movement).
