Keith Flint: farewell to a true icon

Keith Flint, vocalist of the Prodigy, died at the age of 49.

The Prodigy released a statement confirming the sad news, saying: “It is with deepest shock and sadness that we can confirm the death of our brother and best friend Keith Flint. A true pioneer, innovator and legend. He will be forever missed. We thank you for respecting the privacy of all concerned at this time.

With his punk aesthetic (tattoos, piercings, and spiked hair) Flint became one of the UK’s most iconic musical main characters in the 90s. He joined the Prodigy as a dancer, and later became a frontman alongside the rapper Maxim.

The group achieved six number one studio albums in the UK and one in the United States. Their last album, “No Tourists,” was released in November, and the group had recently announced a 2019 tour in Europe and South America. But this is another sad day for music lovers.

R.I.P., firestarter.
