Discover the paintings from the “Shoki of Isami” Exhibition

Kawanabe Kyosai was an artist active in Tokyo during the last Edo period and the first half of the Meiji period. Contemporary Japanese artists, together with international guests, have created their own unique depiction of “Shōki”, the demon queller (one of the motifs that were dear to Kyosai himself), in occasion of the exhibition “Shoki of Isami”.

The exhibition was held at the Kawanabe Kyosai Memorial Museum, in Japan.

We are proud to show to our readers the paintings presented at the exhibition. Enjoy our gallery!
